Where History Rests: 250 Years of Stories
In preparation for America’s 250th anniversary, the Concordia Cemetery Foundation is organizing a county-wide historic cemetery driving tour for Erie and Niagara Counties — and we’d love for you to join us!
We’re developing a map of self-guided tours featuring the stories, people, and history found within our local cemeteries. This project is designed to celebrate our shared heritage and bring new attention to these remarkable places of memory.
Each participating cemetery will create its own self-guided tour — shared at the gate via booklets, QR codes, or online — highlighting the history and unique stories of its grounds. Together, we’ll promote the event through social media and work with county and state tourism groups to help share these stories far and wide.
Even if you’re outside Erie or Niagara County, we’d love to connect with you! We’re eager to share plans and ideas so other counties can create their own versions of this project.
Interested? Please contact us by November 14, 2025 at concordia1859@gmail.com & Include the names and email addresses of everyone from your cemetery who would like to participate.
Our first Zoom meeting will be held in early December 2025, and the tours will launch in May 2026.
Let’s work together to tell the stories of those who built our communities — and celebrate 250 years of American history through the places where history rests.
We have so many stories to share!
